<h2 id="initial-setup-requirements">Initial setup requirements</h2>To configure the Energy Keeper app with your Sorein Power Station, the following requirements must be met:<ul><li>WiFi must be present. The Sorein can&apos;t connect to 5 Ghz WiFi, so be sure a 2.4 GHz network is available.</li><li>The Sorein must be turned on.</li><li>Your phone must be connected to the Internet via cellular or WiFi, and Bluetooth should be enabled as well. You should stay close to the power station, so that it can use Bluetooth for the setup process.</li></ul><h2 id="to-connect-the-sorein-power-station-to-wifi">To connect the Sorein Power Station to WiFi</h2><ol id="isPasted"><li id="isPasted">Start the EnergyKeeper app.</li><li>Set up an account, following the instructions in the app.</li><li>Turn on the power station. The white WiFi indicator on the front panel (near the top right) should be flashing. A slow flash means it has already been connected to WiFi and is looking for that network. Due to the fairly high power consumption of Starlink Standard, we recommend you turn off the AC power outlets on the power station when you don&apos;t need Internet service from Starlink.<h3 id="estimating-power-consumption">Estimating power consumption</h3>A Starlink Standard consumes an average of 75-100 watts when in use, and 20 watts when idle. You can roughly estimate the amount of time you&apos;ll be able to power your Starlink Standard by dividing the watt-hour rating of your power station by the expected daily power draw (in watt-hours).For example, let&apos;s assume you will use Starlink for 4 hours each day and then turn it off. At roughly 4 hours of use per day, a 1kWh power station would be able to keep Starlink Standard running for about 3 days.Here&apos;s how that&apos;s calculated: 4 hours usage per day X 85W average = 340Wh per day. &#xA0;1000Wh power station capacity / 340Wh = 2.94 days. This doesn&apos;t count the consumption of other appliances that might also be using the power station, or the inverter efficiency. To estimate the impact of power consumption of the inverter, take another 10-15% off your estimated run time.<h2 id="starlink-mini">Starlink Mini</h2>Starlink Mini can be powered in one of several ways:<ul><li>plugged into an AC power outlet, using the AC adapter that came with the Starlink Mini.</li><li>plugged into a USB-C outlet on a power station. This requires a Starlink Mini USB-C Cable. These are readily available from Starlink and many Amazon sellers. Note that this method supplies ~12 volt DC nominal, and this may cause the Starlink to reboot occasionally.</li><li>using an <a href="https://www.airgear.store/products/air-gear-minilink?_pos=1&amp;_sid=26ac76f8b&amp;_ss=r">AIR GEAR MiniLink</a>. The MiniLink works with most trailers.</li><li>using another DC power source, such as a portable battery.</li></ul>Methods which don&apos;t require the AC adapter are more energy-efficient, which is important when camping away from an electrical hookup (&quot;boondocking&quot;).&#xA0;<h3 id="isPasted">Estimating power consumption</h3>A Starlink Mini consumes an average of 18-20 watts when in use, and 15 watts when idle. Actual runtime will probably be less, as this calculation doesn&apos;t take into account the consumption of other appliances that might also be using the power station. This also assumes that USB-C is being used, and that the power station&apos;s inverter is turned off.<h2 id="saving-energy">Saving energy</h2>Starlink includes a &quot;Sleep Schedule&quot; feature that can save a lot of power. You can set it to automatically go to sleep at night. Even though a Sorein Power Station inverter has a built-in shutoff, repeatedly exceeding the rated output will eventually cause component failure. This type of failure is not covered by the product warranty.To avoid risking inverter overload, be thoughtful about how you use the inverter. Here are a few tips:<ul><li>Don&apos;t use two high-wattage appliances at the same time. For example, an air conditioner and a microwave oven.</li><li>Avoid using appliances on electricity if they have the option to run on propane. For example, many water heaters and refrigerators can run on either propane or electricity. Choosing the propane setting will greatly reduce load on the inverter.&#xA0;</li><li>Avoid running the inverter for long periods of time within 90% of its rated continuous maximum output. Should you choose to do this while you are towing, the power station must be assembled. In this case, be sure to secure the Sorein Power Station so that there is no stress on the connecting points, and that the unit is not damaged or scuffed during towing. The methods used to secure the power station are the owner&apos;s responsibility. AIR GEAR is not liable for damage that occurs while charging a unit during transit.&#xA0;During normal use, AIR GEAR recommends that the Main Unit / Control Unit be kept on a dry, clean, solid surface, if it is being used by itself (not connected to a battery module or Off-Road Cart). The Main Unit / Control Unit should not be left on the bare ground or grass. Doing so risks damage to the electrical connectors on the base of the Main Unit / Control Unit.When connected to an Extra Battery/Battery Module, the Sorein Power Station should always be on the Off-Road Cart or the Battery Chassis. This protects the unit and enables easy relocation.Note:&#xA0;For G1 Sorein systems, the term Main Unit was used to describe the primary component of the power station. <h2 id="never-use-a-neutral-ground-bonding-plug-in-a-sorein-power-station">Never use a Neutral-Ground bonding plug in a Sorein Power Station!</h2>Use of a Neutral-Ground bonding plug can destroy the inverter&#x2014;even if the inverter is turned off.Damage caused as a result of using a Neutral-Ground bonding plug is not covered by warranty.Neutral-Ground bonding plugs (sometimes called N-G plugs, or Ground-Neutral bonding plug) are not recommended for use with the Sorein Power Station. The reason is that if you forget to remove it before plugging the power station into a wall outlet, the bonding plug will create a short circuit which immediately blows the inverter.People often think they need a bonding plug because a circuit tester is showing an &quot;open ground&quot; condition at the power station&apos;s AC outlets. This is normal with &quot;floating neutral&quot; systems and does not indicate a malfunction. You can safely use all of your appliances.&#xA0;An Electrical Management System (EMS) may report an &quot;open ground&quot; and shut off the power to your RV. The best solution is to remove or bypass the EMS. You don&apos;t need it with the Sorein Power Station. The power station already has numerous safety features, to ensure reliable and steady power.If you have a built-in or &quot;hard-wired&quot; EMS, you can install a bypass switch, in order to allow the power station to deliver power to the RV. (Progressive Industries offers an inexpensive bypass switch for its EMS-LCHW30 and EMS-LCHW50 models, as an optional accessory.)If your Sorein Power Station&apos;s inverter has been blown, contact AIR GEAR Customer Service for assistance. Replacement of the inverter circuit board may be possible in some cases, although it&apos;s not covered by warranty. You can also purchase an <a href="https://www.airgear.store/products/sorein-extra-inverter-2200-watts?_pos=3&amp;_sid=e58bc13fe&amp;_ss=r">Extra Inverter</a> to replace a blown inverter.
