Connecting to WiFi and/or EnergyKeeper appUpdated 2 days ago

Initial setup

When configuring the Energy Keeper app with your Sorein Power Station for the first time, keep in mind these important steps:

1. WiFi must be present. The Sorein can't connect to 5 Ghz WiFi, so be sure a 2.4 GHz network is available.

2. The Sorein must be turned on.

3. Your phone must be connected to the Internet via cellular or WiFi, and Bluetooth should be enabled as well. You should stay close to the power station, so that it can connect via Bluetooth for the setup process.

4. The WiFi indicator on the front panel (top) should be flashing white rapidly. If not, press the "DC 5521" button on the front panel for 5 seconds. This causes the power station to enter setup mode (rapidly flashing WiFi indicator).

5. Restart the Energy Keeper app if it doesn't find the power station in 30 seconds after taking all of the above steps.

6. Press the + symbol on the main screen, to start the process of automatically discovering the power station. (See picture, below.)

7. Tap the power station when it is discovered.

8. Pick your WiFi from the drop-down list. If it doesn't show up right away, give it a moment. Enter the WiFi password. The Sorein Power Station will connect to the WiFi network.

After successful setup

Energy Keeper will give you access to additional features of the Sorein Power Station. You can:

  • Remotely monitor its level of charge, charging input, and power output.
  • Toggle the charging mode between "Superfast" and "Quiet".
  • Turn on or off output banks.
  • Share access to your Sorein with another person who has the Energy Keeper app.

Changing WiFi networks

You can only program the Sorein Power Station to connect to one WiFi network at a time. If you wish to change to a different WiFi network, follow these steps:

  1. Turn on the power station
  2. Press the DC5521 button for 5 seconds, until the white WiFi symbol starts blinking rapidly.
  3. Start the EnergyKeeper app.
  4. Press the + symbol on the app screen.

Follow Steps 6-8, above to complete the process. Your Sorein Power Station will forget the prior WiFi, and connect to the one you specify.

Troubleshooting connection problems

If the Energy Keeper app doesn't find your Sorein, check these items:

  1. The Sorein Power Station has connected to WiFi. The white WiFi symbol on the front panel should be on constantly. The power station can't connect with Bluetooth only.
  2. Your phone has a good Internet connection.

If the app doesn't show your username when it first starts, you can pull down on the main screen to refresh it.

Please note: AIR GEAR does not provide support for Energy Keeper. The app is maintained by a third party and we have no control over its function. We regret that we cannot help troubleshoot connection or software problems beyond this Help Center article.
