Troubleshooting simple problems with SoreinUpdated 10 days ago
The following are troubleshooting steps for common problems with the Sorein Power Station:
Main Unit will not turn on
- Verify that the AC power outlet being used has power. Try another outlet that is on a different circuit breaker.
- Check the main circuit breaker on the back of the Sorein Main Unit.
- Disconnect all appliances and devices from the Sorein. Then press the black circuit breaker button to reset it.
- If the circuit breaker will not reset, contact AIR GEAR Customer Service.
- When turning the unit on, be sure you are pressing and holding the Power button for 2 seconds. A short press may not work. The button needs to be pressed until the Main Unit beeps and the display comes on.
- Try a Factory Reset.
- On a G1 Sorein, a factory reset is done by pressing the "DC 5521" and the "Power" buttons at the same time. Hold both buttons for 15 seconds. The unit should beep after 15 seconds.
- On a G2 Sorein, a factory reset is done by pressing the "USB" and the "Power" buttons at the same time. Hold both buttons for 15 seconds. The unit should beep after 15 seconds.
- Disassemble the Sorein stack, and try powering on the Main Unit only (with no attached Extra Battery or Extra Inverter).
- Contact AIR GEAR Customer Service. Please have the unit serial number from the back of the Main Unit on hand.
Batteries losing charge quickly
- Usually this is a result of the unit being left on (without being plugged in), or leaving the inverter on when it is not needed. See this article for explanation and tips.
Main Unit comes on, but there is no output from AC outlets
- Check that the "AC" (inverter) button indicates that the inverter is on. The button should show a green dot in the center.
- If the green light in the AC button is illuminating, try plugging another device into the AC outlets. This test is to verify whether the outlets are providing power.
- Check the main circuit breaker on the back of the Sorein Main Unit.
- Disconnect all appliances and devices from the Sorein. Then press the black circuit breaker button to reset it.
- If the circuit breaker will not reset, contact AIR GEAR Customer Service.
- Power off the Sorein completely, then turn in again. This process can clear small errors.
- Contact AIR GEAR Customer Service. Please have the unit serial number from the back of the Main Unit on hand.
No charge from solar panels through the XT60 port
- The solar panels must be producing at least 50 watts before they will be recognized by the Sorein Main Unit. On a cloudy day, in shade, or in dim light, the solar panel output will be greatly reduced.
- Double check the connector in the XT60 power. Unplug it and plug it in again. Make sure it is fully seated.
- Allow up to a minute for the panels to be recognized. Until they are recognized, the Sorein will show zero input power.
- Check that the XT60 indicator is visible on the main screen. The symbol for XT60 is shaped like the XT60 port (see photo).
- If the XT60 indicator is not present:
- Check all solar panel connections.
- Try a different cable to connect the solar panels to the Sorein. The problem could be a bad cable.
- If the XT60 indicator is present, the solar panels are being recognized by Sorein but they are not outputting enough power to charge Sorein.
- If the XT60 indicator is not present:
