General
AIRLoq is a "keyless" electronic deadbolt, designed specifically to replace the round black deadbolt found on the entry door of many aluminum Airstream trailers. Up to 11 entry codes can be programmed into it, from 1,296 possible combinations (4 digits from 1111 to 6666).
AIRLoq is designed to be installed easily by anyone. The only tool required is a Philips screwdriver. It can be removed just as easily, if you keep the original lock parts.

AIRLoq fits Airstream trailers with round black deadbolts, including:
- Bambi (2017 through mid-2024 model year)
- Safari (mid-2008 and later)

- Globetrotter (2018 through mid-2024 model year)

2008 trailers
Some were made with square deadbolts, and others were made with round deadbolts. AIRLoq only fits trailers with round deadbolts. AIRLoq will not fit on trailers with square deadbolts.
2024 and 2025 trailers
Some trailers from 2024 and 2025 do not have round black deadbolts. AIRLoq fits 2024 and 2025 model year trailers only if they have a round black deadbolt.

We regret that AIRLoq does not fit trailers which have a door handle with integrated deadbolt. AIRLoq does not fit trailers which have a black door handle.
AIRLoq does not fit motorhomes, including:
- Airstream Interstate
- Airstream Rangeline
- Airstream Atlas
Batteries
- AIRLoq takes 4 AA batteries.
- Alkaline batteries are recommended (not rechargable or lithium AA batteries).
- Batteries in AIRLoq last about 6-12 months, depending on use.
- It is recommended to remove the batteries before winter storage, and replace them at the beginning of each camping season.
AIRLoq will beep and flash red/blue several times during locking, to alert you when the batteries are low. If the batteries go dead, AIRLoq can still be opened with the metal keys provided. AIRLoq comes with 2 standard metal keys.
If the keys are lost and the batteries are dead, AIRLoq can be powered via a hidden USB port at the bottom of the lock. A portable charger or battery bank with a USB-C cord is needed for this.
Replacement keys
The two metal keys that come with AIRLoq can be duplicated by any locksmith.
If you lose all the metal keys to your AIRLoq, we regret that we are unable to provide more. AIR GEAR does not stock extra keys for AIRLoq. You can still use your AIRLoq with the keypad entry code.
- AIRLoq metal keys are not compatible with original equipment Airstream entry door locks.
- AIRLoq keys are not compatible with original equipment Airstream deadbolts.
Bluetooth / fingerprint / app access
AIRLoq does not have Bluetooth, fingerprint access, or a mobile phone app. This is so the batteries will have the longest possible life.
Volume control
The buttons on AIRLoq beep when you press them. The volume is adjustable, with four settings: Silent, Low, Medium, and High. The default setting is High.

- Low = about 30 db
- Medium = about 40 db
- High = about 50 db
Other information
AIRLoq has a rubber gasket that fits between the outside portion of the lock and the door skin, to prevent water entry.
The metal key lock is protected by a plastic cover.
The USB port is protected by a tight-fitting rubber cover.
The keypad is lighted, when a key is pressed.
AIRLoq has a 1 year warranty, against failure caused by manufacturing defect. Failure due to improper batteries, misuse, incorrect installation, modifications, physical damage, lightning or electrical current ("hot skin"), and other non-manufacturing defects is not covered.
AIRLoq is designed in the USA by Bigweld Design, and manufactured in China. Bigweld Design does not currently have plans to design an AIRLoq for Airstreams made after 2025.
