ETA Solar app

You may choose to use the optional ETA Solar app on your mobile phone, to monitor the performance of your solar panel kit. This app is not required for the solar panels to work properly. You can find the app in the App Store for your device (whether Android or Apple).

Please note that this is a third-party app and AIR GEAR is unable to provide support for it. We cannot assist with connectivity or other software-related issues. In particular, if you make changes to settings, you're on your own.

Why Is the Default Profile Called "Gel"?

In the app you may notice that the default charging profile is called "Gel". You can disregard this name. The settings in the default profile are suitable for charging both lead-acid and lithium battery types. The Portable Solar Kit will perform well without any changes. 

Do not change the charging profile to any of the pre-defined "lithium" settings. These have not been tested with typical RV battery setups and AIR GEAR cannot be responsible for problems that may occur if you make changes.

Creating a custom charge profile

The default charging profile programmed into the AIR GEAR charge controller is suitable for charging lithium batteries, but you may wish to make a custom charging profile for your particular lithium battery setup. Most people won't need to do this.
