The Airstream's solar monitor doesn't show any charge from the Portable KitUpdated 8 months ago

The solar charge controller built into your Airstream only measures the power coming from the factory-installed (rooftop) panels. It will not show power coming from the AIR GEAR Portable Solar Kit.

To verify that the Portable Solar Kit is charging the batteries, look at the indicator lights on the charge controller (black box) that came with our kit. The Guide that came with the kit explains what those lights should show when the batteries are charging.

If you are using the ETA Solar app on your phone, you can also monitor the performance of the system that way.

If you have an amp-hour meter installed at the battery (such as Victron SmartShunt or BMV) it should show the net power going to the batteries from both the rooftop and portable panels. Note that this can be a negative number if more power is being used than the solar panels can generate at that moment.
