Spare tire is losing pressureUpdated 16 days ago
A spare tire will normally lose about 1 psi per month. Consistently losing more than 1 psi per month may indicate a loose connection, or other problem.
If your spare tire is not holding pressure and you have an EasyAir installed, check the following items:
- check that the valve core on the EasyAir is tight. See this article for details.
- lower the spare tire and confirm that the connection from the EasyAir hose to the spare tire valve is tight. The connector can vibrate loose over time, causing a slow leak.
- if you have a TPMS sensor on the EasyAir valve, make sure it is tight
- check the spare tire itself for leaks or damage (such as screws or nails in the tire)
The best way to find a leak point is with a spray bottle filled with soapy water. Apply the soapy water liberally to every connection and look for bubbles forming.
