Latch won't close properly / key tumbler looks "recessed"Updated a day ago
After installing the AIR GEAR Compartment Lock Upgrade you may need to make minor adjustments in order to get the latch to lie flat, or get the key tumbler to be flush with the lock or compartment door.
If after installing the lock you notice it looking like the one in the photo below, or if the latch is difficult to close, please try these adjustments. The video below shows you how to perform each type of adjustment.

First, check that the lowest nut on the back side of the lock is tight. When the nut is too loose, it allows excess movement in the latch mechanism, and this can result in the latch not closing well.
Second, you may need to adjust the cam a little further "out" (meaning looser, or closer to the end of the threaded post) so that the door closes a little more loosely.
DO NOT over-tighten the lock. You do not need to compress the door gasket in order to make a rainproof seal.
Some customers adjust the cam so that the door is pulled too tightly shut. This forces the cam into a slightly askew position, which causes the tumbler alignment to be off.
t's normal for the door to have a little movement in-and-out when you press on it. As long as the door is making soft contact with the seal all the way around the perimeter of the door, it should be OK.
