AIRLoq jams or deadbolt does not moveUpdated 3 days ago
Jamming problems
The existing deadbolt in the Airstream must operate smoothly, for AIRLoq to function correctly. A deadbolt out of alignment or with excessive play can cause AIRLoq to jam. This is usually caused by a bent or damaged mortise in the door. The mortise includes the deadbolt and a mechanism to make it slide into the locked and unlocked positions.
The mortise is not part of AIRLoq. See below for a photo of the deadbolt mortise.

You can see a video detailing this problem on YouTube.
To avoid this problem, always test the deadbolt for smooth and correct operation before installing AIRLoq.
AIR GEAR does not sell replacement deadbolt mortises, and they are not available as a separate replacement part. So if your mortise needs replacement you have to purchase a complete Tri-Mark deadbolt from an Airstream dealer. This replacement deadbolt will include a new mortise.
Installing a mortise requires some drilling out of old rivets and installing replacement rivets. You can watch how it's done in this video.
