Metal backup key can only be removed in the "locked" position
In normal operation, the metal backup key will come out in the 12 o'clock position, whether the deadbolt is extended or retracted.
If the metal backup key will only come out of the lock when it is in the "locked" position, it's because the spindle is installed 180° off where it should be. Disassemble the lock completely and reverse the spindle position, then re-assemble. Be sure that the deadbolt and the battery box are in the retracted (unlocked) position when you re-assemble.
Manual locking knob will not turn
There are a few possible causes of this issue:
- Spindle was installed in the wrong position. SOLUTION: Disassemble the lock and double-check the spindle orientation.
- Mounting screws are too tight. SOLUTION: Slightly loosen the screws until they are just compressing the spring washers.
- White electrical cable is interfering with the mortise. SOLUTION: Disassemble the interior portion and re-route the white cable.
White battery box will not fit over the mounting plate
- Make sure the white cable is not interfering. Re-route as needed.
- Ensure that the deadbolt is fully retracted, and that the manual locking knob is in the "unlocked" position.
Battery box does not sit flat on the door. Battery side is lifted off the door slightly.
This is a result of over-tightening the mounting screws. It will not affect the operation of the MiniLink, but if you would like to make the battery box fit more flat to the door, disassemble the lock and correct any minor bend in the mounting plate.
When re-assembling, be sure that the mounting screws are only tightened until they are just compressing the spring washers.
