What brand of solar panels can charge the Sorein Power Station?Updated 18 days ago
You can use any brand of portable solar panels to charge the Sorein Power Station, as long as the combined output of the panels is more than 50 watts and less than 1,000 watts. If you are using multiple panels, be sure that their combined output voltage does not exceed any of these limits:
- 1,000 watts
- 20 amps
- 60 volts
For this reason, connecting panels in a serial arrangement is not recommended. Multiple panels should be connected in parallel.
IMPORTANT: If you exceed the limits above, the MPPT charge controller in the Sorein Power Station may be damaged. If that happens, you will not be able to charge the power station through the XT60 connector. Fortunately, the MPPT controller board is user-replaceable. Contact AIR GEAR customer service for assistance.
Do not use a charge controller with your solar panels. That's already built into the Sorein Power Station. Using a charge controller may prevent the panels from charging the power station.
You will need an adapter from the connectors on your solar panel (typically MC4 or Anderson) to a female XT60 plug. AIR GEAR provides an Anderson-to-XT60 adapter with our Portable Solar Kits sold since May 2025, and we offer a 2-panel adapter if you have a second Portable Solar Kit.
Rooftop panels installed by the RV manufacturer typically can't be used without custom re-wiring. For more on that, see this article.
