The gas level indicator showed about a half tank for a while but quickly went down to nearly 0%. Is it broken?Updated 2 years ago

No. It's because GasStop does not monitor the exact amount of propane in the tank. It only provides an estimate of the fill level, based on the amount of pressure in the tank.

Propane tanks are pressurized. The more full the tank, the higher the pressure. The less full the tank, the lower the pressure. When your tank is full to approximately half full, GasStop provides a fairly accurate indicator of how much propane is in the tank. However, as the gas level gets lower, the indicator needle will fall faster. GasStop is useful for monitoring the approximate amount of gas in the tank, but not for measuring it exactly.

If you are looking for a device that indicates the exact amount of propane in the tank, consider a product that attaches to the bottom of the tank and measures the fill level more accurately. Several products are available.
