Three solutions to "funny tasting" water

1. Flush the filters thoroughly

If you've purchased a new filtration system from AIR GEAR, you must flush the filters prior to use. The amount of time recommended for the flushing is included in Blu Technology's instructions included with the product. If the filters are properly flushed, there is no taste imparted to the water—in fact, because the water is put through their "tasty" filter, it should have a pleasant taste or no taste at all.

If the filters are more than 3-4 months old, it may be time to replace them. We have replacement filters available.

2. Sanitize the plumbing

Another common cause of bad tasting water is the RV plumbing itself. This is common in RVs where the plumbing system has not been sanitized regularly. If you have not sanitized the fresh water system in the last three months, we recommend you do that before drinking water from it (with or without a filter).

3. Use only high quality water hoses

We recommend that you use only the AIR GEAR RV Water Hose to connect both sides of the Blu Technology filtration system. Using another type of hose can introduce off-tastes in the water, which the filters may not be able to remove completely.
