Missing connector on a Micro-Air thermostat for ColemanUpdated 10 months ago

If you have purchased a Micro-Air thermostat to replace a Coleman (aka AirXcel, RV Products, or RVP) thermostat, and found that the wiring connector is not present in the wall, this answer applies to you.

Some RV manufacturers deviated from the original design of Coleman (AirXcel/RVProducts/RVP) air conditioners and altered the wiring.  In the altered wiring, the air conditioner connecting wires leading from the wall to the thermostat were connected by crimps or wire nuts.

If your Coleman thermostat is direct wired this way (without connectors), you will need to purchase a simple adapter in order to complete the installation of the thermostat. You can read details about this adapter and purchase it here.

AIR GEAR does not sell or support this adapter so if you have questions about it, please contact Micro-Air directly by opening a ticket on their website: http://micro-air.com/contact_microair.cfm. Micro-Air does not have a phone number but replies to customer requests quickly.
