Frequently-Asked Questions about TSTUpdated 19 days ago

Do the tires need to be re-balanced after installing the TST TPMS sensors?

You don't need to rebalance the wheels of your trailer or motorhome to account for the weight of TST sensors. They aren't heavy enough to throw off the wheel balance.

Each TST cap sensor weighs 0.59 ounces, or 16.8 grams.

How long do the TST sensor batteries last?

The sensor batteries last 12 to 18 months in normal use.

Do the sensors need to be removed between trips, or during storage?

No, you can leave the sensors in place during storage.

We're aware of a YouTube video that claims that TST sensors cause the springs in valve stem cores to become compressed over time. The video, which is based on one person's experience, recommends that the sensors be removed between trips. Unfortunately, the content creator drew the wrong conclusion from their experience. There is no need to remove the cap sensors between trips.

Whether you use a TPMS or not, we recommend having new valve stems installed every time you replace your tires.

How long does the TST monitor battery last?

Typically you'll get about 8-12 hours out of a fully charged TST color monitor.

What is the maximum pressure (in PSI) that a TST system can monitor?

The TST 507 and 770 series can read up to 218 psi.
