Expected life span of GasStop hosesUpdated 3 hours ago
The GasStop braided stainless steel propane hoses that AIR GEAR offers are more resistant to abrasion, UV, rodents, and nicking. We cannot say definitely that they will always last longer overall. The reason is that the interior part of the hose (the part that actually contains the gas) will naturally deteriorate in any hose over time.
Generally we recommend replacing propane hoses when they become very stiff, show signs of cracking (rubber hoses only), or begin to leak. A soapy water test at the fittings every year is a good idea. The industry recommendation is to "consider" replacement at 5 years. Rubber hoses that are in the sun (rather than under a propane cover) will probably have a shorter life.
