Can Sorein charge and discharge at the same time?Updated 19 days ago

Yes, the Sorein Power Station can supply power when it is plugged in to an AC wall outlet, and when it is charging from a solar panel through the XT60 port.

When charging from the XT60 input port (either from a truck DC-DC charger, or from a solar panel), the power station's inverter can supply its full rated AC output power.

When plugged into an AC wall outlet, the power station enters "UPS 1 Mode" (Uninterruptible Power Supply). In UPS Mode, the Sorein Power Station's inverter can output up to 1,000 watts, while charging at up to 800 watts.

When the power station is in "UPS 1 Mode", AC output over 1,000 watts will be drawn from the power station's battery. For more information, see the Sorein User Guide, available here.

If the wall outlet power is interrupted while the Sorein Power Station is in UPS Mode, the power station will continue to supply power to all of its outlets. It can switch over in less than 20 milliseconds.

If more output power is needed, you can add the Sorein Extra Inverter. The Extra Inverter can supply the full rated power of 2,200 watts while the power station is charging from an AC wall outlet. This is in addition to the 1,000 watt output capacity of the Main Unit's inverter.

When using the Extra Inverter, the switchover time is reduced to zero milliseconds.

Sorein charge speed (AC input)

When plugged into a 15-amp or 20-amp wall outlet, the Sorein Power Station can charge at up to 1,800 watts. The actual charge speed will vary depending on the current charge level ("state of charge") of the batteries.

When the Sorein Power Station is set to "Silent Charging" mode through the Energy Keeper app, the AC charge speed is limited to 750 watts.

If an Extra Inverter is installed, the maximum AC input (maximum charge rate) doubles. This requires that both the Extra Inverter and Main Unit are plugged into separate AC power outlets.  The maximum charge speed through the XT60 input remains 1,000 watts.
