Can I charge the batteries from my truck's DC-DC connection?Updated 2 hours ago
You can charge the Sorein Power Station through the XT60 connector in the back, with any DC source providing between 11 and 60 volts, and up to 1,000 watts. This means you can use a typical DC-to-DC connection from your truck.
The Sorein batteries must be connected to the Main Unit in order to charge them. If you have a stack of 2-3 batteries that is too tall to stand safely in your truck bed, you can lay the stack down on its back, with two cautions:
- Be sure not to block the cooling vents on the left and right sides of the Sorein Power Station, and the Extra Batteries!
- The XT60 inlet is on the back, so it will be blocked when the Sorein is lying down. To work around this, you can arrange a frame or bed for the Sorein that lifts it about 2.5", to allow room to connect the XT60 cable.
Alternatively, you can charge just the Main Unit (top), or Main Unit + 1 Extra Battery.
Note that the Sorein Power Station is smart enough to take care of battery charge balancing, so having one battery that is less charged than the others will not be a problem.
